Bugeyed Bluegill Bug

Fly tying
Bugeyed Bluegill Bug
Great pattern I've been using lately. Works great for bluegills and other panfish. Something about the long tail and over sized hackles that the fish cant resist. This is an easier version to tie that works just as well as the original.

Materials
UTC 70 black thread
Size 10 hook
Beadchain eyes
Grizzly hackle tail
Grizzly saddle hackle
Variegated chenille

1. Start thread.
 2. Attach bead chain eyes.
 3. Move thread to the back.
 4. Tie in your tail fibers.
 5. Tie in the hackle.
 6. Tie in the chenille.
 7. Wrap chenille up to the eyes.
 8. Spiral wrap the hackle to the front.
9. Whip finish and Enjoy.

Thanks Chris

Simple Leech

Fly tying simple leech.
Very easy pattern using only a few materials
and can be made many different colors.
My favorite colors are black, olive and white.
Materials
Streamer hook
lead wire .20
Utc70 Thread
Marabou Feather
Silver Tinsel

1. Wrap lead around hook.
 2. Start thread and wrap to the back.
 3. Tie in the tinsel so the silver side will be wrapped out.
 4. Tie on marabou feather tail.
 5. If using a small hook one feather will do the tail and body. Spin it to form a rope.
If using a larger size you may need to tie in a seperate feather for the body.
 6. Wrap forward.
 7. Tie down and cut excess.
 8. Spiral up the tinsel rib.
 9.  Tie off and trim.
10. Whip finish and Enjoy.

Foam Beetle

Foam Beetle
Very universal pattern. Add stuff to it, change the colors. Imagination is very powerful.
One note on this particular one is.  I used chenille which will cause the fly to sink a bit. Another option which is lighter and would cause it to ride on top of the water would be ostrich herls or even peacock herls.
Materials
Hook size 10
Thread utc 70
Foam in black and yellow
medium black chenille

 1. Secure hook in vise.
 2. Lay down a base of thread and give a light coat of super glue.
 3. Tie on the body foam.
3a. All the way to front.
 4. Tie in chenille.
 5. Wrap to front.
 6. Pull over foam and make one wrap where you want it as a mark.
 7. Move foam and add a drop of super glues.
8 Tie down using the mark you made.
 9. Add the indicator strip.
 10 Trim and whip finish.
Enjoy!
